Maximum
the Hormone live up to their name, a full-on punk band with feral,
provocative music. Maximum the Hormone was formed in 1998 in the
suburbs of Tokyo. The group currently consists of Ryo-kun on guitar,
Daisuke-han on screaming vocals, Ue-cyan on bass, and Nao on drums and
vocals.

Nao, the younger sister of Ryo, plays the drums adroitly
and ferociously despite her petite size, and her high voice adds a
distinct contrast to the bellows of the front men.

Their bass
player Ue is also an exceptional musician, and says he is most
influenced by Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. His bass style (and
his hair), if influenced by Flea, is so only in that it is wild yet
solidly cool.

However Maximum the Hormone does not play to show
off their chops; they seem more bent on venting their feelings and
having a good time.

Ryo is the group’s main songwriter, and he
lists as amongst his inspirations System Of A Down, the Ramones, Mike
Patton, NOFX, Suicidal Tendencies and Snot.

Maximum the
Hormone’s debut mini-album Ootori was released in February 2001 on the
indie label Sky Records, owned and operated by fellow punk rockers
Nicotine, their friends and family. This early configuration of the
band often sang in English, but after some lineup changes they became
more Japanese oriented, and adopted their famous katakana (Japanese
lettering) logo.

While singing mostly in Japanese, their lyrics
tend to be lewd, ridiculous and do not in an obvious way make sense.
Maximum music is punk based, but also includes funk and other
influences, with their mainstays being high energy performances and
humor. The band furthered their reputation playing a rambunctious set
in August 2006 at the Summer Sonic festival’s beach stage, and today
rank as one of Japan’s best punk bands.

Other signs that they
were reaching a larger audience include their music being used as the
ending theme of the animation Akagi and a Portuguese language fansite.
In 2007 the band’s career took off in a big way, with their supplying
the opening and closing themes (“What’s up, people?” and “Zetsubon
Billy” respectively) for the popular animation Death Note.
Their album, Bu Iki Kaesu, which contains these songs, debuted at #5 in
Oricon, and sold a not too shabby 70,000 CD’s in the first week of
release, by far their biggest sales to date.

Since
i heard their two Opening and Ending songs for the Death Note anime, I
fell in love with the band. This is my dream band actually. They have
everything i want — A screamo main vocalist, a kick-arse guitarist
that also has a kick-arse voice, a Flea-infested slapbassist, a
drummer-girl who can beat the drums like crazy, a
punkrock-slash-metal-slash-hardcore-slash-funk-slash-comedy all in one
for the sound they produce. And they really do know how to have some
fun with their music, especially during their live performances.

arrow Here are some of their videos:
Koi No Mega Lova (http://youtube.com/watch?v=FC5r7GLGeuQ)
This is my favorite  biggrin. Dance party into a mosh pit.

Rock And Roll Chainsaw [Live] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNecfsYqbk4)
"Blood, blood, blood, love, rock and roll chainsaw!  biggrin "

Zetsubou Billy (http://youtube.com/watch?v=Km1×8BocDCs)
The 2nd Ending theme of Death Note. Also one of my favorites.

Download Online Flash Games

Saturday, April 21st, 2007

Want to download Flah games from sites like ToxicFlash.com, Funcave.com, MiniClip.com, NewGrounds.com, etc?

Well, here’s a mini tutorial for that (note: You need to use Mozilla Firefox for this tutorial).

1. Install this Mozilla FireFox Extension: Download Embedded. Restart FireFox after finished installing.

2. Now try going to a site that offers free flash games, for example, let’s go to ToxicFlash. Let’s choose a game, say PC Breakdown. On the bottom-right corner of your FireFox browser, you should be able to see a red arrow. Click on the arrow, choose View Embedded Items. Now you’ll be able to download the flash game (.swf file). Save it anywhere on your PC.

3. The SWF file is not playable yet. You need to convert it into an EXE file so that it can be played. So download and install this free SWF to EXE Converter. I think you’ll be able to figure out how to use the converter on your own. Its easy to use.

——————————————————————————–

A thousand train of thoughts.. .
Countless emotions.. .
Intricately put into words.. .

Perfected
with a synthesis of hard-driven guitars and a more grief-stricken
vocals comes the much awaited new album – “Every Moss and Cobweb”.
With
12 tracks of brutally honest and heartfelt sentiments about love and
life as you know it. This new album with the first single “Will you
ever Learn” will take you to a journey of how one’s mind can imitate a
reflection of doubt and uncertainty and what you can do about it once
you notice you’re a step away from it.
That’s what this album is all
about, we encountered so many downfalls and mistakes along the way. ..
This is our way of making up for all those unwanted situations that we
did in the past, somehow we want to prove how sorry we are and right
now we will make it sure that we’ve learned from our mistakes which
everyone can be prone to.. .

Borrowing their name from one of
Snapcase’s famed releases, TYPECAST is now one of the most awaited
newcomers in the small-scaled indie music scene of the Philippines.
With an overwhelming set of performances for every show, the band is
now creating widespread recognition among the crowds that come to watch
this trio on stage, consuming all the heart-felt words of whispers and
screams with wide arrays of contrast octave riffs that are totally
melodic in such a way that they have been labeled as an emo band from
the underground rock scene in the province of Laguna. In a masked kind
of fulfillment, after years of playing since they were formed back in
the latter weeks of December of 1999, the band plays with an urge of
consistency of medium paced set of moods.

Influenced by foreign
bands such as: Armor for Sleep | Further Seems Forever | Atreyu |
Dashboard Confessional | Saosin | Appleseedcast | Shai Hulud | Thrice |
Copeland | Brandston | The Get Up Kids | Deftones | Slowride | Coheed
and Cambria | Alkaline Trio | Fugazi etc., the band’s sudden interest
in performing live is one of the reasons why they’ve been stable for
quite sometime now. Typecast’s sound has become famous for its honest
lyrics which are derived from real-life experiences. Steve, the band’s
main song writer, triggers the most violent and hurtful yet
conscientious set of songs, every show with a pounding beat of drumming
coming from Melvin, who hits the drums like it owes him money, which is
then concluded by low keys of bass that come from the mild fingers of
Chi. The coalition of these guys is what makes the crowd get on their
feet and absorb the music; whether outdoors or inside venues filled
with eye-tearing smoke or singing along to every line as though their
hearts were outside their shirts and shredding it to pieces with
experiences of break-ups and disastrous relationships.

..im really starting to like this band. the quality of the music they
make is outstanding, compared to the new wave of other Filipino rock
bands imho. Steve’s voice is very similar to the voice of Dashboard Confessional’s vocalist Chris Carrabba  biggrin .

here’re some of their recent music videos (from YouTube.com):

Will You Ever Learn : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOeCBzgPq6s

So what’s the point in all of this?
When you will never change
The days have past
The weather’s changed
Should I be sorry? Could I be sorry?
I did it all for you
Hoping you would see
Your eyes are dull, your hands are clenched
Are we ready?
But you think about yourself
Only but yourself
But what about…
Un-lonely nights, romantic moments
The love
What about them
Throw it all away
You know me well
You know it’s wrong
Then what is it you feel?
You hide behind those perfect smiles
It won’t fool me because you already did
But you think about yourself
Only but yourself
But what about…
Un-lonely nights, romantic moments
The love
What about them
Throw it all away
The perfect dates, the sweetest kisses

Boston Drama : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyMyY_mNuA0

Standard pick-up lines that seems to wreck your bones
Can this be a sequel of my dying hope?
Chasing down a never ending make-believe
But you’re a perfect match of consistency
Will you come back in a heartbeat?
Don’t be confused of what a great thing we could be
We’ll take a walk on the same street
Can you tell me how Boston is like without me?
You’re image is stamp beneath the insides of my heart
Now you’re gone I don’t know where to start
The evidence is showing like a stable apprehension
But you’re the only one who’s apt for this affection

How To Download YouTube Videos

Sunday, April 15th, 2007

Here’s one of the easiest ways to download YouTube Videos. This
tutorial will teach you how to use the online video conversion service
of a site called Vixy.net (http://vixy.net).

What you need:
-> No external sofwares to download. All you need is your internet browser. unibrow

What to do:
1. Go to YouTube.com and serach for the video you wish to download.

2. Get the video’s url:

3. Now go to Vixy.net. Paste the YouTube vid’s url to the textarea:

4. Below the textarea is a dropdown menu that looks like this:

Select the avi for Windows
if you want the converted video to be playable in your PC, since a .avi
video file is playable in almost all Media Players. You can also select
the other options to your liking. You can also choose to download the
audio part only to get an instant mp3 from the vid.

5. After selecting your options, just press the Start
button to begin the video grabbing/conversion process. If ever you
receive an error message after pressing the Start button, just ignore
it and press Cancel, then press the Start button again. Repeat that
process until you get something that looks like this:

6. Wait for the process to finish (might take a couple of minutes), until you have this:

Just click on the download link, and viola! You have just begun downloading your favorite YouTube video.  biggrin  thumbsup

Pro’s:
-> it takes a lesser time to do the process of grabbing and converting the videos, since its done simultaneously.
-> average video file size for a 3 minute video is about 5-9 megabytes.
-> the quality of the downloaded video is left intact (sometimes its even better).
Con’s:
-> the site is still on beta stage, so some bugs and annoying error messages might get in your way at times.
->
the size of the downloaded video is just about the size of the vid from
YouTube, so its quite small. but you can always get a video converter
and re-convert it into a larger one.

Happy Downloading!  thumbsup  biggrin  thumbsup
